About Gishwati-Mukura National Park

Gishwati-Mukura became Rwanda's fourth national park in 2015 after decades of deforestation were reversed through replanting. The forest now supports a habituated group of chimpanzees, golden monkeys, L'Hoest's and blue monkeys, plus 232 bird species. Trekking is less-crowded than Volcanoes or Nyungwe.
