About Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere NP)

Selous was renamed Nyerere National Park in 2019 but is still widely known by its original name. At 50,000 km² it is bigger than Switzerland — four times the size of the Serengeti. Defining features: Rufiji River boat safaris, walking safaris, African wild dog sightings (one of the last strongholds), and almost zero vehicle traffic compared to the northern circuit.
