About Usambara Mountains

The Usambaras are an ancient crystalline mountain range rising to 2,290 m in NE Tanzania. Cool-climate coffee farms, dense sub-montane forest with 150 endemic plant and 10 endemic bird species, the iconic Irente Viewpoint (1,900 m drop straight to the plains below), and welcoming Sambaa homestay villages. One of East Africa's best soft-hiking regions.
