About Lake Victoria (Mwanza)
Lake Victoria covers 68,800 km² and borders Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. The southern Tanzanian shore centres on Mwanza ('Rock City'), a bustling port town famous for the balancing Bismarck Rocks. From Mwanza you access Rubondo Island (chimp sanctuary + sitatunga antelope) and Saanane Island (Africa's first fully-aquatic national park).
