Bwindi Impenetrable National Park protects nearly half the world's remaining mountain gorillas, and tracking a habituated family here is one of the great wildlife experiences on earth. After an early briefing, ranger-guides lead small groups into the forest, following the gorillas' overnight nest sites until you catch up with them.
The trek itself is unpredictable — anywhere from an hour to most of a day over steep, tangled, often muddy terrain. When you reach the family you spend a carefully managed hour watching silverbacks, females and playful youngsters at close range.
Permits are limited and in high demand, so we secure yours as early as possible and pair the trek with comfortable lodges near your allocated sector — Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga or Nkuringo.
