Charter flight from Wilson in, VIP access to the Mara's most exclusive concessions.
Board a scheduled charter at Nairobi's Wilson Airport and, forty minutes later, touch down on a grass airstrip carved into the golden plains of the Maasai Mara. This three-day fly-in safari distils the very best of Kenya's most celebrated ecosystem into an intimate, unhurried luxury experience — no long road transfers, no wasted hours. From the moment your bush vehicle rolls out of camp, the Mara delivers: vast rolling savannah rippling to a distant escarpment, acacia woodland alive with birdlife, and the constant, electric possibility of a predator kill.
Your base for two nights is a legendary tented camp — Governor's Camp or Mara Serena Safari Lodge — both positioned on prime wildlife corridors along the Mara River or the open plains of the Masai Mara National Reserve. These camps combine the romance of classic canvas with genuinely world-class cuisine, private en-suite facilities, and guides who have spent decades reading the bush. Sundowners on the plains, candlelit dinners under a canvas sky, and the distant rumble of lion are the hallmarks of every evening.
Up to four guided game drives — two half-days and two full-days — allow you to explore different corners of the reserve. The Mara Triangle, accessible via the Purungat Bridge, holds some of the highest predator densities on the continent: lion prides roam in large coalitions, cheetah hunt openly across short grass plains, and leopard drape themselves across fever trees along seasonal luggas. Between July and October the Great Migration pulses through, with millions of wildebeest crossing the Mara River in one of nature's most dramatic spectacles, but the Mara's resident wildlife makes it extraordinary at any time of year.
This itinerary is perfectly sized for honeymooners, couples celebrating a milestone, or travellers who want a genuine Mara fix before connecting to a Tanzania fly-camp, a Zanzibar beach extension, or a Seychelles retreat. Park and conservancy fees, all meals from the first dinner to the final breakfast, house wines, beers, and scheduled airport transfers are included — simply arrive in Nairobi and let the Mara do the rest.
Route: Nairobi (Wilson) → Keekorok → Maasai Mara luxury camp → Wilson
Check in at Wilson Airport by mid-morning for your scheduled Safarilink or AirKenya flight — a spectacular 40-minute hop at low altitude that reveals the Great Rift Valley escarpment and the Mara's amber grasslands unfolding beneath you. Your guide meets you at the Keekorok or Mara camp airstrip and whisks you directly into the reserve for an afternoon game drive, covering the open plains as lion prides wake from midday shade and cheetah begin their late-afternoon hunts. Return to camp for a welcome sundowner, a full camp orientation, and a candlelit three-course dinner under the stars as the sounds of the African night close in around the tented walkways.
Rise before dawn for an exhilarating morning game drive timed to catch the golden light of sunrise over the savannah — this is prime predator activity time, and your guide will track lion, leopard and cheetah using a network of radio-linked guides and decades of bush reading. After a hearty camp lunch and a brief midday rest, head out again in the afternoon toward the Mara River, where hippo pods wallow in every deep pool and crocodile bask on sandbanks worn smooth by generations of wildebeest hooves. Between July and October enormous herds thunder to the crossing points in breathtaking numbers; at all other times of year the river corridor remains one of the most consistently productive wildlife areas in Africa. End the drive with a pop-up sundowner on a termite mound kopje as the sun melts into the escarpment, then return to camp for dinner and an optional guided night-walk spotlight around the camp perimeter.
A final early-morning game drive before breakfast makes the most of the last magical hours in the Mara — follow the guides to wherever last night's predator activity has left fresh tracks, elephant or buffalo herds drifting through the acacia woodland, or a pride of lion still feeding on a night kill in the long grass. Return to camp for a full cooked breakfast, pack your bags, and transfer to the airstrip for your mid-morning scheduled flight back to Wilson Airport. Your ground team meets you on arrival for a seamless onward transfer to your hotel or international departure terminal, leaving you with two full days of Mara memories and plenty of time for a Nairobi connection or a continuation to Zanzibar, the Seychelles, or southern Tanzania.
