Arrival in Zanzibar — Stone Town Check-In
Your AECONS driver meets you at Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ) and transfers you to your boutique hotel in the heart of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose narrow alleyways and elaborately carved wooden doorways tell six centuries of Swahili, Arab, Persian and Portuguese history. After settling in, take a self-guided stroll to the seafront Old Fort and the famous Forodhani Gardens night market, where local vendors grill fresh octopus, lobster and Zanzibar pizza over open charcoal fires as the Indian Ocean breeze rolls in — a magical introduction to island life.

Stone Town Walking Tour & Spice Farm
Spend the cool morning hours on a guided walking tour of Stone Town's most storied corners: the House of Wonders (Beit el-Ajaib), the Old Slave Market and Anglican Cathedral, and the ornate carved doors of merchant mansions that once made this city the wealthiest port on the East African coast. After lunch, travel inland to one of Zanzibar's renowned spice farms, where a knowledgeable local guide walks you through groves of clove, cinnamon, vanilla, black pepper, nutmeg and lemongrass — explaining how the island earned its title as the Spice Island of the world and the role each crop played in the 19th-century spice trade.

Transfer North — Beach Resort Arrival
After a leisurely breakfast, your driver transfers you approximately one hour north to your beachfront resort in the Nungwi or Kendwa area, where the Indian Ocean stretches away in every direction and white sand meets water of a blue you will see nowhere else in East Africa. Unlike much of Zanzibar's east coast, the north shore is largely tidal-lag-free, meaning you can swim and paddle at almost any hour of the day. Spend the afternoon at leisure — settling into your honeymoon room, exploring the beach, or enjoying your first cocktail at the resort's sunset bar.

Mnemba Atoll Snorkelling & Sunset Dhow Cruise
The morning belongs to the sea: a short boat transfer carries you to Mnemba Atoll, a protected marine sanctuary east of Zanzibar that is widely regarded as one of the finest snorkelling sites in the entire Indian Ocean. In water of remarkable clarity you will drift over pristine coral gardens alongside hawksbill turtles, reef fish in dazzling variety, and occasional glimpses of reef sharks gliding in the deep. As the late afternoon light turns golden, board a traditional lateen-sailed dhow for your sunset cruise — wooden vessels that have crossed this ocean for centuries carry you gently across the horizon as the sky burns orange and crimson, with light snacks and soft drinks on board. Return to your resort for your private honeymoon candlelit dinner on the beach.

Day at Leisure — Beach, Spa & Local Village
This day is entirely yours: lie in the shade of a palm-thatched sunbed, wade through the shallows, book a couples' massage at the resort spa, or ask your AECONS contact to arrange an optional dolphin-swimming excursion to Kizimkazi village in the island's south, a sunrise deep-sea fishing trip, or a Swahili cooking class with a local chef. Many guests simply spend the day exploring the beach and nearby fishing village of Nungwi, where brightly painted outrigger boats are hand-built using ancient techniques still passed down through generations. The evening is free to dine at the resort or at one of the beachfront seafood restaurants a short walk away.

Departure Day — Farewell to the Spice Island
Enjoy a final breakfast overlooking the Indian Ocean and take a last slow walk along the water's edge before your AECONS driver collects you for the transfer back to Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ) in good time for your onward or return flight. Depending on your flight time, there may be an opportunity for a final Stone Town stop to collect any last spices, kikoi wraps or carved keepsakes from the Darajani Market before heading to the airport. Six days on the Spice Island will leave you rested, sun-kissed, and already planning your return.
